Witec Finland is part of the transnational Network promoting the topic Women in Science, Engineering and Technology. The Association has several contacts to the science and technical education establishments in Finland likewise trade unions and federations of the employers. As an association WiTEC Finland supports female students taking their degrees at university or polytechnics. Several students have already written their final paper studying e.g. female managers role or girls' interest towards technical careers. On transnational level WiTEC Finland collaborates as an external expert in a Leonardo da Vinci project 'Virtual Exchange' (http://www.virtualxchange.org) producing a web based guidance tools for female exchange students in B-SET.

WiTEC will set its expertise on studies and analysis of field as well as contacts to both the labour market and educational establishments in service of the project by implementing and analysing the planned survey in Finland. Its national and transnational contacts will benefit the wider dissemination of the results.

The partner will undertake the following tasks:

  • Attending trans-national meetings; cooperation within partnership toward achieving project goals;
  • Participating in the research activity upon the best practices, methods and competences of WBT in own country;
  • Elaboration of the web-based modular interactive courses upon specifications to be established in partnership;
  • Assistance to courses' implementation;
  • Implementing and evaluating the courses (including the delivery of the web-based modular interactive courses) upon specifications to be established within partnership;
  • Publishing and updating the information regarding the project on their web-site;
  • Translation and adaptation of the materials created within the project;
  • Dissemination of the information related to the project development and its results, using specific means.
